Most AEA Certified Emu Oil Processors uses Physical refining, deodorize by using steam strip deodorization method.
Does Molecular Distillation of the Fully Refined emu oil make the oil safer or improve the oil?
There has been no valid scientific research performed that indicates that the additional step of performing Molecular Distillation of Fully-Refined improves the purity or the capabilities of emu oil. Since research has not been able to identify the active ingredients that makes emu oil perform as it does, care must be taken in further processing of Fully-Refined emu oil to ensure that the capabilities have not been removed or diminished. Further refining of Fully-Refined emu oil by either Molecular Distillation may possibly remove additional matter from the Fully-Refined emu oil, but this removed matter has not been proven through scientific research to be harmful or unnecessary. Currently, all published research from the American Emu Association has been performed using either crude or Fully-Refined emu oil. Until such time as valid research is presented and published, the additional step of Molecular Distillation of Fully-Refined emu oil is unnecessary and considered to be marketing hype.
